Bring in your help center

1 min readUpdated October 28, 2026

Docmunk brings in your articles, their pictures, and their collections, so it can check them against your code. Where you start depends on where your help center is now.

Before you start

Have one of these ready:

  • The address of your public help site.
  • Your code linked, for a Mintlify docs folder. See Link your code.

Choose where your articles are

On Setup, under Where are your articles now?, choose one:

  • On a live help site: any public help site. Docmunk reads each article and its pictures from the pages.
  • In our code repository: a Mintlify docs folder next to your code.
  • Nowhere yet: draft a help center from your code, or start empty.

From a live help site

  1. Choose On a live help site.
  2. Enter the help site’s address and select Import.

Docmunk reads one article at a time and counts them as it goes. Select Stop to end the import early.

From a docs folder in your repository

  1. Choose In our code repository.
  2. Choose the docs folder Docmunk found in your repository, and select the Import button with its page count.

When Docmunk finds no docs folder, it says so. Pick another start.

No help center yet

Choose Nowhere yet, then draft a help center from your code, or select Or write the first article to start empty.

Choosing a start

  • Your help center is somewhere else, such as Zendesk or Intercom: enter its public address under On a live help site.

An imported help center is live on your Docmunk help site as it came in.

Next: Link your code
