Preview your help site before it opens
While the help site is off, readers see only its name and “Not open yet”. Your team keeps publishing to it, and can read the whole site in a preview.
Before you start
- Owners and admins can turn the help site off and on. Everyone on your team can open the preview.
Turn the help site off
Open the site settings
On Help site, select Site settings.
Close the site to readers
Turn off Open to readers. The panel then says readers see “Not open yet”, and Live site becomes Preview.

What readers see while it is off
- Every address of the site, your own domain too, shows its logo or name and “Not open yet”.
- Search engines are told to keep out.
- Articles still publish. Each one you publish from Changes is there when the site opens. See Publish articles.
Open the preview
On Help site, select Preview. The whole site opens in another tab, with a bar on each page that says it is a preview.
- The preview is on Docmunk's own address, at
/help/and your product's id, such as/help/baritoadfor/p/baritoad. Teammates signed in to Docmunk can open the same link. - Anyone else who opens that link sees “Not open yet”.
- The site's own address shows “Not open yet” to your team too. Only Docmunk's own address knows who is signed in.
Open the site to readers
On Help site, select Site settings, then turn on Open to readers.
