Publish articles

1 min readUpdated October 28, 2026

Publishing puts articles live on your help site. Anyone on the team can publish, and the newest publish can be taken back.

1. Mark the articles ready

An article goes out only after someone marks it ready:

  • A draft from Docmunk: select Mark Ready to Publish in the note at its top.
  • An article you edited: select Ready to Publish, choose Publish later, and keep Next publish.
  • After you review edits: select Publish later when the panel says “Nothing left to suggest”.

2. Publish

On Changes, select Ready to Publish. Under Next publish, select the Publish button with the count, such as Publish 3 articles, then select Publish to confirm. The articles publish at once. If Open to readers is off, readers see “Not open yet” until you turn it on.

From Ready to Publish to the confirmation

An article someone edited by hand shows Mark Ready to Publish in the list. Select it to add the article to the publish.

Publish one article now

On its page, select Ready to Publish, choose Publish now, and select Publish now.

Take a publish back

Select Undo in the message, or on Published, select Undo beside the newest publish.

Choosing now or later

  • A fix to wrong help: publish now.
  • Edits for a feature customers can’t use yet: hold them in a release group.
  • Everything else: mark it ready and publish together, so the help site changes once.
