Write an article
Write a new article from an empty page or from a template. It stays a draft until you mark it ready and publish it.
- In the rail, select New Article.
- In New article, enter the Title, pick a Collection or choose New collection, and select Start writing.
- Under Template, pick a template, or start typing on the empty page.
Templates
A template gives the article a shape, with prompts for the words it needs. Docmunk marks the likeliest one Likely.
- Teach a task: the steps for a how-to.
- Fix a problem: an error, its causes, and the fix for each.
- Explain an idea: how something works, with no steps.
- Lay out the details: a table of options and what each does.
- Get someone started: the first steps to a first result.
- Like another article…: the shape of an article you pick.
With a template in place, select Draft it all to have Docmunk fill the prompts from your code, or Write it myself.
While you write
The article saves as you type. Select Preview to see it as the help site shows it. Press ⌘J to ask the chat to change it.
